Last night I went to a small theater in New Jersey, where I saw an awful staged reading of Edward Albee’s play “Malcolm”. But in spite of the unprofessional acting, I remembered one Albee’s line which, I think, offers a literary or theatrical twist to today’s post: ” Between simile and metaphor lies all the sadness in the world“.
